Where did this come from?

Apparently right around 3 months old most babies all of a sudden go from a "newborn" to an "infant". Although wikipedia may disagree with me slightly in the definition.

The difference, in my description, is:

newborn: a brand new baby who doesn't do much besides eat, sleep, poop, and look adorable.
infant: a newish baby who eats more, sleeps less, poops less, still looks adorable, and has a huge repertoire of other somewhat coordinated activities.

This past week alone Kiley has added these to her activities:
-laughing (as observed in my last post)
-reaching for any object put in front of her
-GRABBING objects in front of her
-throwing herself forward from semi reclined positions to try to sit up
-sitting up with very little support
-raising chest during tummy time and staying steady
-rolling over from tummy to back

-drooling A LOT more
-refusing objects

This last one breaks my heart a little. I love that she is able to communicate to me more what she likes and doesn't like but for a few days after I picked her up on her last day of daycare last week she was on her first nursing strike. Well, maybe not a total nursing strike, but a strong bottle preference. Yet another reason mommies should be able to stay home with their babies for the first year. The only time I could get her to nurse is when she was just waking up from a nap, and sometimes even then she would start crying and refuse to suck. I caved one time and gave her a bottle of expressed milk, which she attacked so I knew the hunger was there, but the more I read about it the more I realized that when babies do this it is important to be persistent and for the person nursing to NOT offer a bottle. UGH. Im not worried enough to take her to the doctor because she was still eating, just not as much as she was only a week ago, and seems to be back to her normal eating habits now. I am trying to trust her that she will let me know when she is hungry and if she is hungry enough she will eat no matter what the source is, but it is very difficult on me.
