Kiley is growing and developing every day. I took her measurements the other day and she has grown 2 inches in length and her heads diameter is 2 inches bigger than when she was born. She is also I'm sure over 8 lbs now and is starting to outgrow her newborn clothes and diapers already at not quite 4 weeks old. Just within this last week she really started focusing on faces and will even stare at stuffed animals for like 20 minutes at a time! It was almost like she woke up from a nap and all of a sudden had developed this new skill. She is making more noises besides fussing/crying like she is starting to try to talk, and I think we are getting close to getting some smiles out of her while she's awake. We get a lot of smiles when she is asleep and dreaming but when she is awake it is almost like she doesn't quite know what to do with her mouth when she is happy. She just makes funny faces. I think the most amazing thing to me is that she figured out pretty fast day time from night time. She was sleeping so well at night that I was waking her up every 4 hours at night to make sure she got enough to eat until the doctor told me not to. He said she will let me know when she is hungry so don't stress about it. So now she only wakes me up once throughout the night and last night even slept for 7.5 hours straight! And I was the one who woke her up at 5 am because I was so full of milk I couldn't stand it anymore. Then she went right back to sleep and is still up there sleeping like an angel at 9 am. Chad and I remind ourselves all the time how lucky we are with this baby because she is just so easy, only crying when she needs something and basically getting on a schedule very quickly. We just love her so much. This weekend we are going up to the cabin on Lake Coeur d'Alene for the first weekend away from home. I am so looking forward to getting away from the house (the first time this summer) and I think Kiley is going to love it up there. She will get to meet the rest of Chad's dad's side of the family. Should be a good weekend: )

My baby is going to be a model: )
Well only if she wants to, but at 2 weeks old Kiley had her first professional photo shoot and the pictures are truly beautiful! She did so well the entire time and did exactly what our photographer Makena wanted...pretty much slept the entire time...following directions is the first sign of good model: )
Even though I think my daughter is absolutely beautiful, I realize it is actually Makena who should get all the credit for the amazing photographs. I have trusted Makena with not only photographing my wedding but doing a maternity photo shoot and now Kileys first shoot and she has always surpassed my expectations. She is not only super talented but she really goes above and beyond and while she used to live in Pullman, for this shoot she drove all the way down from Spokane (2 hours each way) to shoot at our house because she knew Kiley would be the most comfortable there. I highly recommend Makena to anyone looking for a photographer in the inland northwest (sorry Reno friends and family, Reno is probably a little far for her but if she is ever heading that way I will let you know). She is also a very talented designer, she did Kiley's baby announcements as well, and I would recommend her for any design needs too, near or far! And yes, her prices are very reasonable. You can check her out on her facebook page. And here is the link to my angel's pictures.
